How to install node.js in Linux Mint ?

sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

not installing properly nodejs by above command

 sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

after downloading and processing so much i ran

node -v 

and i found following result

The program 'node' can be found in the following packages:
 * node
 * nodejs-legacy
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>

so need help to install nodejs in linux mint operating system
